Great place to train for both kids and adults! My kids and I have been Sheridan members for over two years. The instructors are skilled at teaching so many techniques, so students here compete elsewhere and perform well. As a 40+ dad, though, what is even more important to me is Prof. Kevin has established a culture of safety; all instructors and upper-belt students here want everyone to be healthy and able to keep returning to class. You don’t have to worry here about jerk monsters permanently injuring you in your first class like some other BJJ schools out there. Come have fun sweating and learning to defend yourself! There are adult classes at multiple times per day to fit your schedule.

I've been at sheridan on and off in between other life events, but Sheridan & the people always stuck with me. I would recommend this school and environment to anybody who has pondered. Great place to be mentally and physically. The support, vibes, and instructors here are like a home away from home. Also the people who train here are awesome. Very grateful for everyone here.

What an amazing gym and culture. I started at one of their 8 week beginner bootcamps, which I highly recommend. I’m 4 months in and train 3 days a week. My only complaint is that this leaves me with 4 days a week where I’m sad that I can’t train. I’ve spoken with several members who landed here after jumping around multiple gyms, and they all said that this one is in a league of its own. Incredibly supportive community and a very intentionally designed culture of positivity and self-improvement. Excellent instructors. Has something to offer for all ages. I’ve struggled with taking care of myself in my day-to-day, and yet these days I’m more than happy to watch my sleep and what I consume because I feel the results on the mat. I have not had a single negative experience, outside of spontaneous moments of regret that I waited three years before trying this gym out.

I turned 40 last spring and was feeling old and out of shape. Shortly thereafter I watched "Billions" on Showtime where Paul Giamatti was training Brazilian jui-jitsu. I thought if he can do it then surely I could too. Haha. I called Kevin Sheridan and he invited me to train and see if I liked it. It was exhilarating and an extremely good work out. The other students were encouraging and generous teaching me techniques and tips to improve. I was surprised that even as a competitive submission art no one has ever tried to cause me any physical harm. The vibe is very energetic, supportive, and community oriented. A couple months after I started I brought my 4 year old son to train at the school also and he does it 3 times per week and loves it and is making a lot of friends. When my daughter is 4 she will join us too. Thanks Kevin, Yannie, Kyvann, Keith, Alex, Yuri and crew, you guys are awesome!

A little over a year ago, after months of procrastination, I decided to give Jiu-Jitsu a try. I had no prior experience in martial arts or any other type of grappling sport and the unknown of how I would go through this experience, scared the heck out of me… so I had to try. It started with a phone call from Kevin after I had inquired about starting. He asked about me, my interests and my goals… He then offered to go through a class with me and made me feel welcome, like a member of the family without even knowing me for more than just a few talks. Looking back now, this is Kevin… welcoming with open doors and open arms for everyone. Whether you’re starting your first class, been with the school for years or just dropping in for a training session. His personality, leadership and “Be Grateful” attitude trickles down to the rest of the instructors and students. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned at this school is that we’re all on the same journey of learning and practicing Jiu-Jitsu and no one walks this journey alone. There is a great community of people at this school eager to share and help with what they can, so that we all lean, grow and improve… together! No other way to describe my personal experience, other than this has been a short but amazing journey so far! Thank you Kevin, instructors and friends. Looking forward to the many years ahead!
