“We were on vacation in the area from San Diego and decided to drop in so my kids could get a training session before their competition in Grand Rapids. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but coach Jared was great with the kids and knew his jiu jitsu well. For anyone local, please give Sleeping Bear JJ a try whether for yourself or your kids. Or if you’re like us and just need to get some rounds in, it’s great for that too!”

“I was camping in the area and stopped in for an open mat. First, I messaged them on Facebook to see if I could come and what the drop in fees were ($15 as of the time I'm writing this review). The FB response was quick, welcoming and friendly. I am a 52yo blue belt and have been training for over seven years. The facility is spacious and clean. It has great mats and space. The people are amazingly friendly and talented grapplers. I feel they could have all killed me but took it easy on this older grappler with a few chronic injuries. If you live in the area and want to try jiu jitsu or if you're visiting the area this is your place, bring a gi and stop in. Either way you won't regret it. It really felt like family. They're creating a great culture at Sleeping Bear BJJ. I got in a great workout and I can't wait to go back.”
