“Soma Academy is Awesome! Instructors Mr. Myers & Mr. Regis are extremely knowledgeable and great teachers! The structure of the class is very impressive supporting learning Jiu Jitsu and also character development inside and outside of class. Our children are 10, 8 & 6 years old and have been participating for 6 months. We can’t say enough positive things about Soma Academy!!”

“If you live in West Chester, this is the place for you. Soma Academy and the instructors run the most professional program I have ever seen, and I look forward to making the trip back to Ohio to train here.”

“I love Soma! I love Soma for me and I love it for my children. Both Matt Strack and Garrett Myers are gifted teachers. They are so obviously knowledgeable of the sport, and have an amazing ability to present jiu jitsu to all ages and abilities in a way that can be easily understood. They teach on self defense and learning for the sake of learning while also recognizing that competition sharpens skills and gives their students ownership in the sport. I really appreciate the balance they strike with that. They constantly encourage character building in their youth classes and it provides great conversations in our home. They’re also extremely affordable which is a huge win! I LOVE THIS GYM!”

“We started at Soma a few years ago with our 3 and 5 year olds. They are now 6 and 8, and their little 3 year old sister also attends Soma. Instructor Garrett Myers is what makes this place amazing. I can’t sing higher praises for the kids program. He does an amazing job at maintaining structure and teaching in a kind and fun way. He does not put up with any bullying and part of class is focused on character building. Think a much cooler and chiller Blippi! You can tell he truly cares about his students and they feel very safe and comfortable here. We’re very thankful for that. They have game night once a month and our girls look forward to these nights even more than the regular Jitsu classes. All students adult and child alike will learn and grow here. Even the three year olds are learning applicable BJJ skills and foundations. My husband really enjoys the adult classes and learns a lot from them. There aren’t currently a lot of females that attend. I’d love to go, but with infants and toddlers, it’s just not my season. The programs here are really growing, I wouldn’t be surprised if they moved to a larger facility at some point. They do have a changing room for males and one for females. There is one single/private bathroom (I wouldn’t be upset if they put a changing table in there 😊 as there currently isn’t one - but we make it work). Seating can be a bit cramped when the classes are very full, but we all make the best of it. Lots of little siblings come during the kid classes and watch their older siblings or play with toys in the seating area. Everyone is very kind and helpful to one another and it’s just a very positive environment. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone!”
