“Due to work obligations and my folks living nearby, I had the privilege of dropping in at The Jiujitsu Project In Tarpon Springs. (My home gym is my beloved Oregon Pound -- Please visit if you're ever in Oregon!). I travel a lot, and the first thing I always do is find a BJJ gym so I can keep up with training. In all my travels, I have NEVER had a better experience than I did with these guys (and gals!). The level of instruction is detailed, comprehensive, organized, and effective. The instructors are high level, accomplished black belts who teach with humility and with high expectations. A great aspect of all whom I learned from is that they are uniformly aware of when they have been heard and understood. This is a rare (and much appreciated) skill. In addition to all of that, from the head instructor, Professor Michael Geery, to the most recently minted white belt, all were uniformly polite, kind, respectful, and welcoming. If you are anywhere near the area and have a chance to visit, it is more than worth your time. If you live locally, you should consider making The Jiujitsu Project your home gym. You will not be disappointed!”

“Professor Mike is the real deal. He's a wonderful yet humble man. I have a daughter and son there, 11 & 17. From what I have seen, each class and instructor teaches with vast knowledge and genuine care of each students well being. These kids are not just a number to them. Everyone has taken a genuine interest in who my children are as people. I'm very thankful they have such strong role models to look up to. There's also a free women's class that I have jumped into a couple of times. It is full of kind and empowering women. An all around inspiring environment with something for everyone.”

“One of the most welcoming gyms I have ever visited. We dropped in for a lunchtime class when visiting some family in the area and we were welcome with open arms - so much so we went to several open mats here and at an affiliate gym in the area in the 2 weeks we were visiting. They have an awesome womens program every Friday night. Being a visitor at a gym is always nerve enduring but Michael, Butch, Bella and Tommy - as well as all the students here were awesome. Amazing level of talent in the room. Whatever you are doing, keep doing it because you've built an amazing community in your gym!”

“I brought my son to the toddler/5-6 year olds class about a year ago now. Day one after seeing Professor Mike & his coaches in action and how they teach the kids and just the overall relaxed but very respectful culture of the dojo I knew this is where we wanted to be. I’ve always been a fan of Jiu Jitsu and practiced a bit in the Marine Corps, and after sitting in on all of my sons classes for the first 6 months I couldn’t resist the urge to get started myself finally and now the whole family trains! I can’t recommend this dojo enough, just an amazing community.”

“An amazing dojo full of amazing people. The teachers are top notch and care most about everyone improving. A rare combination of teachers constantly looking to self improve, high level/accessible instruction, and high level rolling/training. A wonderful combination of traditional martial arts mentality and etiquette, with modern flair. Blessed to have found this dojo family and everyone in it!”
