“Great experience at this gym, the instructor there is very knowledgeable and a very good teacher, the atmosphere is very welcoming and I very much enjoyed getting to train there, I was brand new to Jiu-Jitsu and they made me feel right at home. Would highly recommend this gym.”

“We really like this place. My daughter has been taking classes here for several years. The instructors are attentive and focused, and the classes are small enough that each kid gets individual attention. They focus on a lot of self defense outside of the martial arts competition setting- real world scenarios, which I think is super important for kids to learn. Everyone is very nice and welcoming, and the fact that I require some flexibility with attendance is never an issue. The price is right, and different depending upon how many classes per week you wish to attend. They also have cardio-kickboxing and other cool classes.”

“I unfortunately did not have a great experience. I called to ask for boxing classes for my 7 year old son. I was told yes, he could come try a class and was given dates and fees. I let the woman on the phone know that he has mild Autism and wanted to be sure that was ok. She gave me an immediate no and stated they didn’t have enough instructors. I understand her concern, but there weren’t any questions asked about his ability or past experience. I asked if they would be willing to meet him and allow him to try a class and again got an immediate no. Of course I don’t want to take him somewhere that feels they aren’t equipped or doesn’t want him there, but my heart broke for my son anyway. Making a judgement call based on a diagnosis without meeting that child or giving him a chance was very disappointing. They have that right, but I hope they will reconsider how they approach the topic and “special needs” population. If you find yourself in a similar position as myself, please know that The Dojo in Braselton is completely open to working with kids on the spectrum (even though they also only have one instructor per class). We had a wonderful experience with Dojo and would highly recommend them. My son just wanted to try something different.”

The instructor is not only patient and demonstrated awesome techniques to the art of jiu-jitsu. In addition his creativity and encouragement and positive reinforcement is beyond, the realm of a professor teaching his students to become majors in a selected profession.
