“The atmosphere is super friendly and welcoming, and the place is always very clean and well-maintained. The coach is excellent — knowledgeable, supportive, and really pays attention to each student’s progress. The intro classes are small, which is great for beginners, and the instructors are incredibly patient and encouraging. It’s a great place to start or continue your jiu-jitsu journey!”

“Started training BJJ back in April of 2021. My main reason for starting was to become a better version of myself and a better police officer. Fast forward almost 3 years and I’ve gained so much more. I have a family at Vortex Jiu Jitsu Academy. 3 competions and the grind of training sessions with many ups and downs.Could not say how thankful I am to everyone who has helped with along this journey.Thanks to all of my teammates and coaches including Tommy Wales. If you are looking for a place to start your journey or moving to the area, this is the place to be!”

“Vortex is a great gym. They will unlock your potential. Coach Tommy, Professor Justin, Squirrel , Jacon, Darrio , Shannon they are all filled with knowledge. They answer all your questions and let you practice until you perfect a technique. It has changed my life since I joined Vortex, I still can't believe being a girl little under 125lbs I am able to submit men over 190lbs. I have gone through a lot in my life and being there made my stress always go away. I learned so much and cannot thank my coaches enough for being there for all of us. We have Brandi As well who is amazing!! Don't wait to join, JOIN us and be a part of this family! They have kids classes too and all of them are badass!”

“Great place with even better people. My daughter and I joined about a month ago and we are both loving it. The kids class has been awesome for her. Not only does it keep her active but she can't wait to roll with her new friends. Coach Tommy and all of the other amazing coaches welcomed us in and made it a breeze to get started with no pressure. They treat you like family and are down to earth. The facilities are clean and people are great, what more could you ask for. If your looking for a BJJ gym, This is it!”

The lessons are clearly thought and everyone there are truly passionate and willing to help one another out. It's a great place for kids to learn self defense and building confidence.
