His ability to both teach the fundamental concepts of Jiu Jitsu as well as break down the fine, intricate details of advanced concepts makes him one of the best. “Coming in a little older (39), brand new with no prior wrestling or martial arts background, Travis made me feel welcome and comfortable right away. Classes are focused but relaxed and fun. Travis seems to have a keen eye for monitoring his students and knowing what level of complexity is appropriate for each individual. I feel like the tone is set by the instructor and I’ve found all the students to be a reflection of Travis’ laid back but passionate attitude for the sport. “The facility is beautiful and the vibe is great! Always enjoy the music too. Travis's teaching style is unique and I can't compare him to anyone else. I enjoy the small details he gives when he's teaching even the most basic of movements. He caters to all levels in a way that he can provide a visual, a cue or even a story that allows you to understand whatever concept or movement we are learning. He has the ability to provide body awareness to someone who's NEVER been on a mat in their life. I think that ability alone to coach anyone in that way, really speaks for itself as far as instruction for classes.
