“Where do I start… I was introduced to west coast jiu jitsu through a friend whose daughter had been attending. At the time my son was freshly 5 and a boy full of energy. We decided to try a trial class and when the class was done we signed up immediately. Professor Rafa was obviously skilled and very thoroughly skilled in his art form , friendly, immediately made us feel like family. He has an amazing group of assistants who help in the class and it just feels like on big family. My son has now been training 3 years now, and Professor Rafael even got me to start and jiu jitsu has changed our lives in so many ways. If you’re looking for a place where yourself or kids can truly develop in Jiu jitsu and build discipline for life there is no better place. This gym is a true gem and I’m so grateful to be a part of the family. Oss”

“My son was getting bullied badly at school when he was 7. He is quite small for his age and didnt want to play any team sports. I forced him to try JiuJitsu and after calling around, Rafa at West Coast was my clear favorite. Rafa is incredible with the kids teaching them confidence and humility and respect. My son went from being meek and afraid to a confident and proud force. 2 years in and he competes in Jius Jitsu regularly and was designated league Champion last year for JiuJistsu World League. He loves Jiu Jitsu and his gym. It changed his life and trajectory. Other gyms are maybe good, but none are West Coast quality and no others have Rafa at the helm. Could not recommend more strongly.”

“This is the best BJJ gym I have attended in Orange County. I had some trouble finding other BJJ gyms near me at first after leaving my other gym, but this one instantly clicked with me. The culture of the gym is amazing. Everyone is very respectful and easygoing. Professor Rafael makes you feel at home and makes you feel like a true family member of the gym, not just some other member. Overall, I would recommend this gym to any level, whether beginner or advanced!”

“Professor Rafael creates such a positive training environment, he is so passionate about jiu-jitsu, it challenges me to want to be better. I started training here in January and instantly fell in love with the community. My kids started here too and the growth I’ve seen with my girls is incredible. Soo grateful for Westcoast Jiujitsu, it’s changed my life.”

“My whole family trains at West Coast for a few years now, and we absolutely love it. Here is why: Environment: Clean, friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Training: The instructors are absolute professionals, highly knowledgeable and skilled Jiujitsu practitioners and teachers. Our students consistently rank at a very high level in the competition circuit. Of course, they will tailor instruction and training to the goals of the student, if competition isn't your thing. Community: Very positive, fun, and genuine. We feel a real bond with the other students, families, and the instructors. These are simply great people to train and spend time with, and that may be the single most important thing in your BJJ journey. Facility: Very high quality, clean, spacious mat space. Nice bathrooms, locker rooms, shower, cold plunge, even an acai Machine! Head instructor: Rafael is highly technically skilled and an outstanding educator. He is friendly, enthusiastic, and fun, yet highly professional. His students are his top priority, and he is dedicated to their growth and success with genuine care and integrity For me, it has been a great way to stay in great physical shape, socialize, and have fun learning a new skill. If you are at all interested in training, please come check it out!”
