"I absolutely love training at 10th Planet Newark! You could not ask for a better head instructor than Jon. He has created such a welcoming and friendly culture while also providing an environment to reach your full potential. His teaching is incredibly technical, and his attention to detail is remarkable—he will ensure we understand the most minor details that make the world of a difference. If you are like me and are obsessed with learning the proper techniques to maximize your skills this is the place to be. Most recently, I attended a competition to support some fellow teammates and was blown away by the team camaraderie. In addition to the supporting environment, I watched Jon run around non-stop coaching our athletes all tournament long. Alongside him, the other instructors are equally passionate, very knowledgeable, and dedicated to providing the best experience. Which is exactly what they provide. In the fall of 2024, my 6-year-old daughter started training here, and it’s been an absolute joy to see her gain confidence, make great friends, work hard, and push herself. She is not just learning jiu-jitsu, but is learning life long skills and it is a testament to Jon’s love of the sport as he teaches every kids class.
