"Absolutely amazing and supportive environment. My two daughters go here to learn proper techniques and self defense. Professor Chris is kind, caring and extremely knowledgeable. He teaches the children to build each other up as a team and also focuses on individual strengths as well. He instills discipline but also makes it fun and the kids have a blast! I have seen such a boost in confidence with my girls while training here for the last 8 months. I can’t wait until my son is older enough to join! All around amazing place for children and adults to learn Ju Jitsu. Highly recommend!"

"My 6yo daughter and I started training here 2 months ago. I like that there are several really great teachers because it gives you the same moves from different perspectives. Everyone is nice. Some guys I know that go to other BJJ gyms say things that are cringy to me, so I also really like the fact that the culture at Akashic doesn't glorify "combat" (probably because they're all combat vets) or over-hype any of the snake-oil branding type stuff. The upper belts are particularly good at rolling with white belts. When they "let you work", it's really believable and it makes for a more productive learning experience when I roll with them. So far I've met lots of great training partners and learned cool stuff. Also they're great with the kids."
