Achmaa Vaan

"Double Phoenix Jiu-Jitsu re-opened up a class for 3 to 6-year-olds. It's offered Monday and Wednesday at 4:50 pm to 5:20 pm. So far my kid loves going there and gets a decent workout. Right now there are a couple of girls and a couple of boys attending the class. I like how they ease these young kids into Jiu-Jitsu by getting them to do light workouts, running, jumping, hanging, hopping, playing simple physical games that require balance and quick moves. Two months into it, now they're starting actual Jiu-Jitsu techniques. It's quite adorable to watch them push and wrestle with each other and give high fives after each mini competition. The main instructor for this class is Coach Andre. He is great with the kids... patient, straight forward, gentle, friendly. He's from Brazil and has been practicing Jiu-Jitsu for many years and won several competitions. Impressive in a lot of ways."

"Big shoutout to John and Dan! I’m visiting from NYC and needed a gym in VA to stay sharp for an upcoming competition. They welcomed me in right away, and I was introduced to a great gym with an even better culture. Tons of mat space, highly technical students with great flow, and a friendly environment where people take the time to get to know you and support your training. Whether you’re visiting or local, this is an excellent place to grow your BJJ game."

Fernando Samaniego

"My son really enjoys the training. The coach is very professional. All the assistants and the coach take the time to make sure my son and other students learn the techniques. It was well differentiated for all levels. My wife and I are very pleased and give high praise to Double Phoenix Jiu Jitsu. Highly recommended."

Steven Clark

"Under new management - previous positive reviews should be viewed with extreme skepticism! In March, we submitted $1500 to reserve 2 weeks x 2 kids of summer camp. In June, we learn that ownership has changed, they "lost" our reservations, and can no longer honor them. (As if it is simple for 2 working parents to find new summer accommodations on the spur of the moment?!) What's worse, they can't refund our money because "that was a different company"?!? What kind of shady BS is this? We are reviewing our options for legal recourse, but in the meantime, I wouldn't trust them with a Chia Pet, much less your kids!!! Edit: "How can you hold us accountable for money that you paid to a different company" - I dunno, it seems like you are happy to acquire assets (web presence, google reviews, existing clients), but when it comes to liabilities, suddenly its shrugs? Trying to have it both ways seems like the definition of dishonesty?"
