"This review is long overdue, but I wanted to share my amazing experience at Bushido Kai BJJ in Irvine. Back in the summer of 2022, I attended a session with a friend who was brand new to jiu-jitsu. As a blue belt, I found the class to be very welcoming and not intimidating at all, which isn’t always the case when trying out a new gym. Coach Eugene Char was fantastic—friendly, supportive, and welcoming to all skill levels. His coaching style was clear and easy to follow, making the techniques approachable for beginners while still providing value to more experienced students. One highlight of the experience was that Coach Eugene rolled (sparred) with us during every class. This was fantastic, not only for gaining practical experience but also as a humbling reminder of how far I still have to go in my jiu-jitsu journey. What really stood out was how Coach Eugene went above and beyond. He even reached out to us the following year, remembering us and encouraging us to come back and train.
