"Andy and I have worked together on and off for about 12 years. He is an excellent all around trainer and very knowledgeable in both striking and Jujitsu. He is probably one of the best in the area when it comes to teaching Jujitsu. You do not need to become a fighter to attend nor do you have to compete. We welcome everyone from beginners to advanced. We are a big family. Come check us out."

"Excellent place to go for people looking for no fluff and just business. The instructor has a very obvious passion for martial arts. He absolutely will not compromise for people who can’t handle the grit of real mma training. The majority of students have an iron sharpens iron mindset and will help you push yourself to learn and improve. To add, It is not at all uncommon for dreadnaught students who have been training for 3 months to mog on blue belts from other gyms. This place welcomes all experience levels and regardless of what you don’t know you will be respected. I nearly guarantee if you have a negative experience here, it is either because of a sparsely occurring students ego, or your own."

"I showed up at Dreadnought in late fall of 2021. I had recently done a cross country van life trip out west and realized how vulnerable I was as a female traveling. I didn’t want that vulnerability to stop me from experiencing life. My first class Andy asked me why I wanted to learn Jujitsu, I explained I just wanted to have a few skills and feel confident being a single female traveler. Classes were a very humbling experience as you roll with all different experienced students, but I never felt like anyone was over aggressive or was intentionally trying to hurt me. Everyone cheers each other on and wants you to learn. Every class I went to I got a little better. Fast forward to spring of 2023. I was on another road trip out west and showering in a female public bathroom at a National Park when I realized there was someone recording me with an iPhone under my stall. I exit my shower stall screaming and came out to see a man in the stall next to me. I only have my towel barely on me trying to restrain him and get his phone. I immediately try to grab an arm to get him in a hold but he struggles out of it. I’m able to locked his knee and restrain him long enough for help to arrive. He was arrested and turns out he has been doing this for 3 years and this is the first time being caught. I had no idea what I was doing and was in complete shock, but I do know without those classes this man would walked away. Training with Andy has given me the confidence to know that in a real life experience I can protect myself."

"The most important thing to know about Dreadnought is that it is not, as advertised, for beginners. First-day fighters will be expected to perform striking combinations and submissions with no specialized or additional teaching from the instructor. I learned more from the high school students (who were very nice) that I was training with than the instructor. Also, if you come for grappling, you will be expected and encouraged to actively roll with competitive fighters and the instructor himself. The instructor will not roll lightly with you and explain the basics. There is no on-ramp for newbies at this place. Topping it all off is the fact that many of the photos used for Dreadnought are not of the current location. There is no turf, red mat, sets of barbells, etc. It far more resembles, as mentioned by other negative comments, an underground, dingy, run-down fight club. I thank God I escaped injury from going here as a newbie."
