"There’s not enough words in the English dictionary to describe how much I love this place! You always see companies describing their business, employees, customers as “one big family” and I’ve never felt that more than here at Gracie Barra, Redondo Beach! I love everyone here, the coaches, the professor, the parents, the students, Erica, and baby Thai at the front desk who are all so so welcoming, friendly, and supportive. They’ve really made this a respectable, fun, and safe environment. I smile from ear to ear whenever I’m here watching my daughter on the mats. When your child starts their first session, it maybe a little intimidating/nerve racking for them, and you as a parent, but, not only do the staff and coaches make you feel at ease, the students will even put an arm around any new student that is in attendance, they’ll pick them up when they fall, hug them when they’re upset, teach them the moves and encourage them. I think this is a testament to everyone that is involved at Gracie Barra on how they’ve raised their students. My youngest daughter who is 3 years old, who doesn’t take any classes, absolutely loves coming too as all the older children quite literally babysit her for me while I watch her older sister on the mats, which is a great help and just another reason why I love it so much here. So if you’re looking for a self defence class for your kids, (or for yourself) or if you’re thinking about it, and are a little apprehensive about going or taking your child here, look no further, this is the place you want to be and you’ll be so happy you made the choice to come here. "Fantastic school, especially for kids! The professors and coaches are so good with them. They teach not just how to win a fight, but how to avoid one in the first place, and how to escape one that's started. There is discussion of important principles at the end of each class (leadership, discipline, enjoyment, inspiration, etc.). Highly recommended."
