"I attended a few trial classes at this gym a few weeks ago and was genuinely impressed with the quality of the coaches and professors. They clearly have a lot of experience and knowledge to offer. I came in with the intention to learn, grow, and focus on developing new skills. However, one drawback for me was the environment during adult classes. There were often many kids and even babies running around on and off the mats, which made the atmosphere feel chaotic and, at times, unsafe. The noise from yelling and crying was also very distracting and took away from my ability to stay focused during training. While I respect what the gym offers and appreciate that it’s a family-friendly space, it’s unfortunately not the right fit for the focused training environment I’m seeking. Hi, thanks for your reply. I just wanted to clarify which BJJ classes I attended they were the 6:30 PM evening sessions, right before the adult kickboxing class. At that time, there was no kids’ class scheduled prior to the adult BJJ class. Around 6:18 PM, I noticed people arriving for BJJ, along with some parents bringing in their children and even a baby. Once the adult class began, there didn’t appear to be any supervision for the kids or the baby. It seemed as though the gym staff allowed them to move around freely. At one point, I saw a baby left on the mat playing with and sucking on orange training cones. I hope these items are cleaned regularly to help prevent the spread of germs and maintain a hygienic and safe training environment. During the adult class, there were constant distractions, a TV playing cartoons, music playing in the background, kids yelling, a baby crying, and children running on and off the mats. This made it difficult to focus on the instruction being given by the coach or professor. To be honest, I feel for your members who attend regularly and have to train in this kind of environment. I’ve trained at several other family-owned BJJ gyms and have never experienced anything quite like this."

"Very happy with the kids program at GB Renton. My daughter has been training here for several years. She is making good progress with her jiu jitsu, improving coordination, and gaining confidence. Professor Boom and the kids coaches are great."

"My son is 12 and he doesn’t like to exercise. We tried so many sports then we found Gracie Barra. He absolutely loved it after the free try out class. All the coaches are very friendly and helpful . They have lots of patience for kids. We always feel welcomed. My son is happy to come to the Jiujitsu classes every week . We definitely recommend this place."

"My 8-year-old son recently joined the Gracie Barra Renton, and he absolutely loves it. The coaches are fantastic at guiding and encouraging each student, ensuring everyone feels included regardless of their skill level. The environment is family friendly, and the facility is kept very clean. Everyone has made us feel very welcome!"
