Van Buren Jiu Jitsu Chandler

"My kids and I absolutely LOVE Van Buren BJJ. We’ve been to other gyms and often daughter would cry before class because she didn’t want to go. Not at Van Buren BJJ as both my kids love going and often say it’s their favorite part of their day. The coaches/owners Jonathan and Angelica are amazing people. They’re both so nice and personable and caring, not to mention excellent coaches. It’s a stark and much welcomed contrast from our previous BJJ gym. The gym is newer and still small and growing, but we like that as my kids get lots of personal attention from the coaches and we feel very much valued as a member of the Van Buren BJJ family. This gym encourages students to test themselves in tournaments, but it’s not the gyms main focus and only a handful of the kids regularly compete. Regardless, even when it’s just my 2 kids competing in a tournament from our gym, Jonathan is ALWAYS happily there to roll with the kids and get them warmed up before each match. The attached photo is my daughter on Jonathan’s back as he teaches and warms up my son and daughter before a tournament. He routinely goes above and beyond and you can tell it’s because he’s passionate about what he does. I’d highly recommend Van Buren BJJ to anyone, kid or adult, who is interested in learning or improving their BJJ skills."

"Thank you Jonathan and Angelica! My husband and I were in town visiting family from California and we wanted to find a welcoming gym that would allow us to cross train while on vacation. We found exactly what we were looking for at Van Buren Jiu Jitsu! The atmosphere was great to go along with some awesome rolls! We attended their Gi and No Gi classes and I attended Coach Angelicas Women's class on Sunday. I loved it! We will definitely stop by again the next time we visit Chandler."

"Phenomenal kids classes. The coaches at this gym are great with kids. They take almost an academic approach to their instructions. Their classes feel like an extension of their academic journey. Class sizes are adequate but not too full. Your kid will have no problem finding a partner of their size and skill level. It has a very warm family vibe and even the parents who observe are very friendly. I tell anyone who will listen about this place and look forward to all that will be learned."
