He has created such a welcoming and friendly culture while also providing an environment to reach your full potential. His teaching is incredibly technical, and his attention to detail is remarkable—he will ensure we understand the most minor details that make the world of a difference. Most recently, I attended a competition to support some fellow teammates and was blown away by the team camaraderie. “Jon's teaching style is really thorough and insightful, especially when it comes to strategy and understanding the deeper aspects of each move. It’s great that he focuses on breaking down the moves in a way that makes them more applicable and practical during rolls. Many times, (for me) just knowing the technical details isn't enough unless I also understand how to apply them strategically in a live situation. Hopefully, other practitioners who may not have experienced that kind of depth at different schools will appreciate it too.”
