We recently took my 4 year old for his first class experience, which is free. When I initially signed the waiver for the free class, I was expecting information on which class to come to because it wasn't stated on their website when to come for the free class. I called the number and it went to voicemail. I received a text immediately after my call and was told to pick any day to come for his age group (according to the schedule online). I picked a day and time that was within his age range 4-6. When we showed up, there was at least 30 kids there of all ages and only two instructors. After the warm up, which was chaos with 30 kids, my son was separated into his age group - which was about 4 boys and 2 girls. Keeping in mind my son has never been to a class, he was being taught a certain move and was instructed to lay on the ground and the teacher then pulled one of the TWO little girls and instructed the little girl to "mount" my son to practice this move. It was uncomfortable to watch and my first thought was that the little girls should definitely be practicing with the little girls. My husband and I are new to JJ but this immediately felt off. There was no interaction with the instructors until after the class and what interaction we did have, was very dry and not welcoming. Safe to say, we will not be back. Very unorganized, not engaging or informative with the parents, and it was inappropriate to have the little girls and little boys interacting in the way that they did.

316 BJJ is a great place for community and family connection! The mental and emotional growth along with the physical is amazing! Because of the diversity you get to meet so many great people. It’s like a brother hood for boys and men, and sister hood for girls and women! 😆 I recommend a free trial class and come see it for yourself !

316 is the real deal. I have both of my young sons (ages 7 and 5) training here, and I can honestly say—there’s not a better Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym in the state of Texas. I know that’s a bold statement, but it’s the truth. The coaches at 3:16 are top-notch BJJ fighters with a wealth of knowledge. But here’s what really sets them apart: they know how to teach. I’ve known a lot of people who are great at something, but they struggle to transfer that skill to others. That’s not the case here. The team at 3:16 teaches through critical, rigorous training, all wrapped in genuine love and compassion. I’ve watched my boys grow—not just in skill, but in character. They’re learning high-level jiu-jitsu, competing at a high level, and becoming better young men in the process. Because of that, at 43 years old, I decided to join 3:16 myself. So this part is for the men. Life, family, and business bring a lot of stress. I’ve turned to different things over the years to cope, but nothing helped quite like this. When you’re on the mat, nothing else exists. You step into a mental space where the world’s stresses melt away. It’s the healthiest escape I’ve ever found. I highly recommend 3:16 to any man looking for a meaningful, effective way to deal with stress, anxiety, and fatigue. This place has done more for me—mentally, spiritually, and physically—than anything else ever has. I can’t recommend 316 enough.

I cannot adequately express with words how incredible 316 BJJ is. Our son has been training with them and when I have time, I do as well. Scott, Mike, Tori and their team are top notch instructors and really work with the kids on a personal level. Aside from teaching jiu jitsu, they are instilling discipline and a sense of pride in their students. The difference we have seen in our son since he has been training is astounding. Thank you so much! Children and adults also obtain tangible skills such as anti-bully techniques, self defense techniques and physical fitness.
