βIβve been training at Una BJJ for years, and itβs honestly one of the best decisions Iβve ever made. The school has a great atmosphere β thereβs a real sense of camaraderie here that you donβt find everywhere. The owners are awesome people who genuinely care about the students and the environment theyβve created. Everyone is welcoming, respectful, and pretty cool overall. Whether youβre new to BJJ or have been training for a while, this is a great place to learn, get better, and be part of a solid community.β
βGreat atmosphere, very technical rolls and friendly people. It can be hit or miss dropping in as an upper belt, sometimes you go to a place and guys bring their ego into their rolls. That wasn't the vibe here at all, everyone was super friendly and welcoming and the technique was on point. They even had fantastic food recommendations, we went to the Korean fried chicken spot down the street and my goodness was that great. I'll be coming back here for sure next time I'm in the area.β
βI visited UNA BJJ on Sunday around noon with the intention of signing up my son, who was with me at the time. When we walked in, I greeted the person at the desk with a polite "hello." Instead of responding with a greeting, he immediately and rudely asked, "What do you need?" He said he was an instructor, but his attitude was incredibly disrespectful from the start. He kept calling me "dude" in a dismissive way, talked to me disrespectfully, and even started yelling at me without any reason. His behavior was so erratic that he appeared to be mentally unstable. This kind of unprofessional and aggressive conduct made it very clear that new members β especially families β are not welcome. Needless to say, I decided not to enroll my son. First impressions are important, and this one was completely unacceptable. I hope UNA BJJ takes this seriously and addresses it before losing more potential students.β
βAs a Brazilian I can say, Una provides an authentic and high quality Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Diverse and inclusive environment for everyone, great for kids helping to build discipline, team work and respect. Best Jiu Jitsu school in Queens!!β
βThis place is really awesome. Really high level professors and instructors and everyone, especially the higher belts are really cool and helpful so you can make improvements. On top of that everyone who competes bring back medals every time, so that tells the caliber of Jiu Jitsu players youβll be training with and learning from. Totally recommended!β
